Karly Do
(Landscape Designer)
BSc MLA MEDes
Karly was born and raised in Calgary, surrounded by Alberta’s vast prairie landscapes. After studying Zoology and French literature at the University of Calgary, she completed a Master of Landscape Architecture, followed by a Master of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape (SAPL). During her time at SAPL, she explored issues of urban development and heritage management in Boston, Portland, Tijuana, and Zurich. Upon graduation, Karly worked as a designer on a large-scaled, multi-disciplinary transportation infrastructure project in Calgary. In 2024, she traded the rolling foothills of Western Canada for the rocky Atlantic coast and joined Brackish as a landscape designer, bringing with her a profound curiosity about the east coast and what it means to live and work in Atlantic Canada. As an emerging professional in landscape architecture, Karly hopes to marry technical proficiency with a deep understanding of regional character to create landscapes that celebrate the unique identity of every place.
