Avery Clarke
(Landscape Designer)
BKI MLA
Born and raised in Halifax, Avery is a landscape and urban designer with a deep connection to Atlantic Canada. After earning his Bachelor of Knowledge Integration at the University of Waterloo, Avery completed his Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto. In his work, he leverages landscape as a medium to respond to the unique challenges and opportunities that a site presents to people, place, and ecology. Through the use of a variety of design tools and methods, in particular 3D design and representation, Avery proficiently explores and cultivates design interventions that foster resilient and dynamic spaces – transforming our relationship with the physical environment at a variety of contexts and scales. Prior to joining Brackish, Avery practiced at PUBLIC WORK, where he worked on numerous projects, and played a key role in the landscape design for the new Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Arts District in Halifax.
