Harbour House

This harbourfront estate in Nantucket required a refresh for its new owners. Working with the existing landscape structure including a pool, stone retaining walls, and hedges, this project introduced extensive informal planting to bring a diversity of texture and a soft colour palette suited to the coastal site and traditional Nantucket architecture. New whimsical wooden gates within the hedge create a welcoming threshold and secure space for the family dogs to roam free. The pool terrace was transformed into a garden oasis, trading hardscape for planting, introducing mahogany as the pool deck material, and resurfacing the pool to a deep blue to reference ocean hues and to reflect and accentuate the adjacent colours and textures of the landscape.
